Our Paintings
Duane Norris works exclusively with Acrylic paints on stretched, gallery-wrapped* canvas. Each abstract art work is an original, one-of-a-kind painting. All paintings sold on NorrisAbstractions.com are hand-signed by the artist and are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, confirming that it is a hand painted original work of art.
All paintings feature painted edges and a front border that creates a visual "frame" for the painting, allowing it be hung unframed. Most paintings under 36" are light enough to be hung from a push-pin style thumb tack or small nail.
All paintings are protected by a top coat of water-based polyurethane varnish to provide protection against surface scratches and degradation of the painting from exposure to UV light. (Please see Care Instructions below).
*A Gallery-Wrapped Canvas is defined as a stretched canvas attached to the wooden frame by staples on the back side of the canvas instead of the frame edge. Gallery-wrapping hides the staples by making them invisible from the front.
Norris Abstractions artwork is painted on one of two types of gallery-wrapped stretched canvas:

Care Instructions
The pigments in acrylic paint are generally quite stable over time, and are less subject to fading than some other paint formulations. In addition, each painting from NorrisAbstractions.com has been carefully top-coated with a water-based polyurethane varnish to provide additional scratch and UV protection.
Nevertheless, we recommend that you hang the painting in a location where it is not exposed to direct, full sunlight for hours at a time on a daily basis.
In addition, please follow these recommendations to keep your original artwork vibrant and free of surface marks or discoloration:
Remove surface dust with a feather duster or soft dry cloth.
If a more stubborn surface stain occurs, a soft, damp (not wet) cloth may be used. Avoid vigorous scrubbing.
Never use any cleaning product that contains alcohol or ammonia (such as a glass cleaner).
